Conference "Educating today in differentiated contexts"

Location: A Coruña. 21st May. Registration required.

Conference in collaboration with the Association Arela, which is set within the Ktorce-18 educational program. It is aimed at teachers and professionals from the educational and social intervention community, and its main objective is to create a space for training and reflection on the vision of education today from different contexts (family, educational community and intervention professionals).

11.30 a.m. José Antonio Marina Torres, philosopher, writer and educator, will give the conference "Talent: intelligence in action" which will be open to the general public.

Programme for Children's Care and Family Education
Scholarships to access specialised resources and extracurricular activities, purchase of books and school supplies, as well as school support activities for children of families in situations of emergency or social vulnerability, are some of the intervention actions included in this programme promoted by Fundación Barrié and Cáritas. This programme will be carried out at autonomous region level until December 2015. Applications to Cáritas in Galicia.

Workshops for the prevention of drug use in adolescents
Application period open for schools and colleges in the provinces of A Coruña and Lugo. From 4th to 29th May.

Di-K-Non is an educational experience to prevent drug use in adolescents, in which the inmates of the Treatment Unit of Teixeiro Prison inform about their problematic experiences through workshops for secondary, baccalaureate and vocational training students.

The number of workshops offered for 2015-2016 will be 10. The selection of the 10 schools or college will be drawn from the applications received. Register

Informative talks scheduled by Fundación Barrie and FAGAL (Federation of Galician Associations of Relatives of Sufferers of Alzheimer's and other dementias) aimed at families of people diagnosed with Alzheimer's or another dementia, in which, with an informative approach, different aspects will be discussed in relation to Alzheimer's disease: what causes dementia, normal ageing, early, frequent and characteristic symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, evolution of Alzheimer's disease in Galicia.

The Fundación Barrié presents in Madrid its collection of international contemporary art, with a selection of 31 works related to painting from photography, installation or sculpture, playing with the expansion and reincarnation of painting in other media. The collection aims to answer the question: What do we mean when we talk about painting today? and it aspires to be a teaching tool that articulates activities focused on knowledge, understanding, debate and perception of international contemporary creation of the last 30 years.
