Barrié Foundation Library

The Pedro Barrié de la Maza Foundation Library is the response to the Foundation's concern to preserve and disseminate the bibliographical and documentary heritage of and about Galicia.
"Its purpose is to encourage research into, and knowledge of Galician, culture."
The Library holds over 40,000 volumes of monographs and periodical publications and 2,000 records of audio-visual material.
Access is open to researchers, either institutional or private.
Services

On-site consultation (by prior arrangement). An interview can be arranged prior to the consultation of the Library's collections, to determine which works are to be consulted and to obtain guidance and advice.

Guidance on bibliography and works of reference. Library staff will be able to offer guidance on the content of the collection and advice in locating items of interest to the researcher, as well as on handling and consulting the catalogue, works of reference, etc.

Bibliographical information via e-mail on the collections of works and services offered by the Library.

Photocopying. Reproduction of titles published after 1958 is permitted within the limits of current copyright legislation. Reproduction of titles published before the above date is not normally permitted. Permission will be granted only in exceptional cases and according to the Foundation’s policy governing publishing and preservation.

Equipment for consulting material held in audio-visual and multimedia format.
